Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has raised concerns about a mysterious credit alert into one of his private bank accounts, describing the incident as a potential breach of financial data.
According to a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, the transfer came from an unknown individual with the narration “Contribution Electioneering Campaign.”
Shaibu stressed that neither Atiku nor his campaign solicited or authorized such a payment.
The statement noted that the account in question is strictly private and not publicly accessible, raising questions about how confidential banking details were obtained.
Shaibu warned that if the financial information of a former Vice President and leading presidential candidate could be compromised, then ordinary Nigerians face even greater risks to their financial privacy.
