
The Chartered Institute of Building Nigeria Hub has called for the adoption of smart infrastructure and sustainable construction practices as part of efforts to address growing climate challenges in the country.
According to the Institute, climate change has made it imperative for stakeholders in the built environment to rethink planning, design and construction processes in order to ensure sustainability and resilience.
In a statement released on Sunday to mark World Environment Day, the Head of the Institute, Onabekun Adekunle, warned that poor planning and unregulated urbanisation are worsening environmental degradation and social instability across the country.
