The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has unveiled new resolutions aimed at strengthening internal structures, enforcing accountability, and reaffirming party supremacy as part of its institutional reforms.
In a statement by National Publicity Secretary Osa Director after the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, the NDC emphasized its commitment to building “a strong and enduring institution” where governments elected on its platform remain accountable to party structures.
The party stressed that members must align personal ambitions with collective goals, declaring: “The party remains supreme, and members are expected to subordinate personal interests to the organization’s objectives.”
Key decisions include:
Code of Conduct Committee: A framework for party officials and candidates, led by the National Legal Adviser.Reconciliation Committee: Tasked with engaging and reconciling aggrieved members.
Financial Accountability: Strict oversight of party resources, with mandatory disclosure of funds raised by candidates.Affiliated Groups: NGOs and allied organizations must operate under party guidance, not independently.
