Defections not a threat to APC chances in Osun gov’ship poll — Oyintiloye

Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has dismissed concerns that recent defections by some party members could weaken the APC ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

Speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyintiloye described the defections as a normal occurrence during election periods, insisting that the party remains strong and well-positioned to reclaim power in the state.

His remarks came amid the exit of several APC members to other parties in the state.

According to Oyintiloye, the APC’s strength lies in its extensive grassroots network and loyal membership spread across wards, polling units and local government areas in the state.
