NDC Officials Accuse Kwankwaso of Attempting to Hijack Party Structure

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused its Vice Presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, of trying to hijack the party’s structure in the North West region, particularly in Kano State.

In a joint statement, the party’s Northwest Vice Chairman, Mohammed Rabiu Serina, and Kano State Chairman, Hussaini Isa Mariga, alleged that the former Kano State Governor is sidelining non-Kwankwasiyya members and blocking them from contesting elective offices on the party’s platform.  

  

 The two leaders described themselves as pioneer members of the NDC, appointed by the party’s National Leader, former Bayelsa State Governor Henry Seriake Dickson, before the party’s formal registration. 

They said their positions were later ratified through congresses and the national convention.

Serina and Mariga claimed they played key roles in building the party’s structures across Kano State and the broader North West zone long before Kwankwaso and his supporters joined the NDC.
