
The Osun State APC Governorship Campaign Council has called on Governor Ademola Adeleke to provide explanations regarding the deployment of operatives of the Osun Amotekun Corps and the utilisation of security funds under his administration.
In a statement issued on Monday and signed by the council’s Director-General, Oluwole Oke, the opposition campaign body expressed concern over reports that some Amotekun personnel were assigned to duties at a private energy facility in Ondo State.
According to the council, information available to it indicated that dozens of Amotekun operatives were stationed at Pacific Energy Company in Omotosho Village along the Benin-Ore Road, Ondo State.
Oke said the reported deployment raised questions about the use of personnel of the state-backed security outfit at a time when communities in Osun were facing security challenges.
