
The All Progressives Congress in Lagos State has announced the state Deputy Woman Leader of the APC, Damilola Sonayan-James, as the running mate to the party’s governorship candidate, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
The Lagos APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, made this known in a statement on Monday.
According to the APC chairman, the Badagry-born Sonayan-James was chosen for her “competence, leadership capacity, grassroots acceptance, party loyalty, and ability to contribute meaningfully to the continued development of Lagos State.”
Monday’s affirmation by the Lagos APC chairman was preceded by jubilation among indigenes of Badagry and supporters of Sonayan-James following indications at the end of May that the coast was clear for her emergence.
