Police tighten security around Lagos schools, dismiss attack rumours

The Lagos State Police Command has assured residents that there is no verified intelligence indicating any imminent attack on schools in the state following the circulation of a threatening notice allegedly warning of plans by bandits to abduct schoolchildren.

The reassurance comes amid growing concern among parents and school authorities after reports emerged of a notice purportedly pasted at a school, claiming that bandits intended to attack and kidnap pupils.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said the Command had assessed the situation and immediately activated enhanced security measures across the affected area and other strategic locations in the state.
