The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara has dissolved all its caucuses across the 16 local government areas of the state, in a move for a major restructuring of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The decision, which took immediate effect, was reached by the State Executive Committee, SEC, and other key stakeholders following a closed-door meeting with the party leader and former President of the 8th Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, during his recent homecoming and stakeholders’ engagements in the state.
State Publicity Secretary of the party, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, saying the move was aimed at repositioning the PDP for a stronger outing in the 2027 elections.
Adewara said, “the dissolution was part of a broader plan to refresh the party’s structures, introduce new hands and expand participation among members across the state.
