VP Shettima departs Abuja on a one-day working visit to Ekiti

Vice President Kashim Shettima, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, departed Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city, for Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti State.

Stanley Nkwocha, a media aide to the vice president, said in a statement that, his principal arrived in Ado-Ekiti to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on a one-day working visit.

“Senator Shettima was received on arrival at the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport, Ado-Ekiti, by the State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, and other top state officials,” Nkwocha said.

He also noted that the Vice President is billed to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone (EKZ).

In addition, Shettima will commission the newly built Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) along Old Iyin Road, Ado-Ekiti.

“The Vice President will further commission the newly constructed 1.2-kilometre Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Flyover at Okeyinmi, Ado-Ekiti, one of the legacy projects of the Oyebanji administration.
