The State of Israel has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening ties with Nigeria, announcing new initiatives in agriculture, healthcare, innovation, and skills development.

Speaking in Abuja during Israel’s 78th Independence Anniversary celebration, Ambassador Michael Freeman highlighted ongoing agricultural collaboration, noting that Israeli technology and seedlings are already being deployed by Nigerian farmers.

“These vegetables were grown from Israeli seedlings using Israeli technology but cultivated by Nigerian farmers on Nigerian soil. Not vegetables, possibility,” he said, stressing the potential for higher yields, stronger rural communities, and greater food security.

Freeman announced the launch of a fifth cohort of Israel’s entrepreneurship programme in 2027 and the donation of three fully equipped ambulances to Nigeria.

The envoy emphasized that Israel’s rise from a resource-constrained nation to a global technology hub was driven by turning challenges into opportunities, citing innovations such as drip irrigation, desalination, and precision
