Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has urged first-term governors elected on the party’s platform in the zone to improve their performance to secure a second term.
The Forum said better delivery by the governors would translate into victory for the APC in the forthcoming polls.
The call was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the Forum’s Chairman, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, after a second-quarter stakeholders’ consultative meeting in Abuja.
First-term governors in the North-Central seeking re-election in 2027 are Ahmed Ododo (Kogi), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Mohammed Bago (Niger) and Caleb Muftwang (Plateau).
Governors AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara and Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa are rounding off their second terms.
The Forum expressed its desire for the APC to retain control of all states in the zone after the 2027 elections, stressing that the performance of the first-term governors would largely determine their re-election chances.
