
Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, has said the 11th Senate will consider a proposal for a single six-year term for the President and state governors.
Bamidele made this known on Tuesday during plenary in the Senate, explaining that the idea is aimed at improving governance by allowing elected leaders to focus fully on performance from the outset.
According to him, the proposed six-year single tenure would eliminate the distraction of re-election campaigns and enable officeholders to dedicate their energy to governance.
