Abia to recruit more health workers, plans 35th anniversary

The Abia State Government has announced plans to recruit more health personnel into the state Ministry of Health.

The state Commissioner for Information, Okey Kanu, disclosed this on Monday while briefing journalists on the outcome of this week’s State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Alex Otti.

He stated that the new phase of recruitment would focus on medical officers, dental officers and consultants on full-time and part-time appointments.

He said, “In line with the ongoing reforms, the State Civil Service Commission will commence recruitment of more healthcare professionals tonight. At the last count, 742 medical personnel had been hired.

“This new phase will focus on medical officers, dental officers, consultants — both full-time and part-time. Interested candidates have been urged to apply.”
