President Bola Tinubu is set to declare open an international conference on security and national unity on August 13.
The event, organised by Jama’atu Izalatil Bidiah wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS Nigeria) in collaboration with the Muslim World League of Saudi Arabia, will hold at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.
The conference is themed “International Conference on Security for Sustainable Socio-economic Development”.
A statement by Garbadeen Mohammad, chairman of the conference’s media and publicity committee, said the event will examine Nigeria’s security challenges, including banditry and kidnapping, as well as their impact on socio-economic development.
He added that the conference will feature high-level plenary sessions on national security and socio-economic development within a broader global context.
Other sessions, he said, will focus on diversity and inclusive coexistence, while expert panels will examine strategies for countering terrorism and armed banditry and strengthening
