HR institute CIPM re-elects president

Nigeria’s Chartered Institute of Personnel Management has re-elected its President and Chairman of the Governing Council, Mallam Ahmed Gobir, for another term, as the professional body reports strong membership growth, accelerated digital transformation, and stricter regulatory enforcement.

Gobir secured 2,784 votes at the institute’s 57th Annual General Meeting, held in Lagos, retaining leadership of the country’s main human resource management body. The Vice President, Mrs Chidinma Obiejesi, was also re-elected with 1,469 votes.

The AGM also produced other council outcomes, including the election of Adeyemi Ajayi as National Treasurer with 1,785 votes. Several governing council members were returned, while Dr Sabastine Okeke joined as a new member.

Other re-elected council members include Eng. Sean  Badiru (2,334 votes), Sa’adatu Faruk (2,279), Michael  Ogu (1,992), and Comrade Osahon Omole (1,750).

In his presentation to members, Gobir said the institute recorded significant institutional progress during the year under review, particularly in membership expansion,
