Transfer: Celtic manager Martin O’Neill told to keep Kelechi Iheanacho

Former Aston Villa striker, Alan McInally, has urged Celtic manager Martin O’Neill to keep Kelechi Iheanacho at the club beyond this upcoming summer transfer window.

Iheanacho’s future at Celtic remains uncertain heading into the summer transfer window.

The Nigerian striker joined the Scottish champions from Sevilla last summer on a free transfer.

The former Manchester City star had signed an initial one-year deal, with Celtic holding an option to extend it by another year.

However, Iheanacho will officially become a free agent, and McInally has now given his verdict on the player’s future.

Speaking with the Daily Record (via The Herald), McInally said of Iheanacho, “I would keep him.

“If he can perform the way he did in the last six games over the course of the season, then he is obviously worth keeping.
