MTN Nigeria is stepping up its fixed broadband expansion with the launch of FlyX, a new broadband solution designed to connect homes and small businesses in areas where fibre connectivity is unavailable or difficult to deploy.
The solution uses Outdoor Units (ODUs) alongside indoor equipment to capture stronger 4G and 5G signals, providing high-speed internet access in locations where indoor network reception may be weak.

MTN said the approach would help extend reliable broadband beyond the existing fibre footprint into urban, peri-urban and underserved communities, offering an alternative to fibre-to-the-home connections.
The launch comes as demand for high-speed internet continues to rise in Nigeria, with heavier data consumption putting pressure on operators to expand broadband capacity and coverage.
