Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), on Monday attended the official commissioning of the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Headquarters of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Abuja.
Obi arrived at the Wuse venue in Abuja at about 12:20 p.m. His attendance signals possible high-powered partnership talks between the two opposition parties.
The event marked the official launch of the campaign headquarters ahead of the 2027 general elections and attracted party leaders, political figures, candidates and supporters.
In his speech at the event, Yusuf Mamman Dantalley, the National Chairman of the APM, declared that the commissioning signalled the beginning of what he described as a journey to “reset Nigeria.”
Dantalle said the large turnout at the event reflected Nigerians’ desire for a new direction based on competence, courage, compassion and accountability.
“The journey to reset Nigeria has commenced. The future starts today,” he said.
