Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has commissioned a N15.9 billion flyover in the Post Office area of Maiduguri, marking the fourth flyover in the state capital.
The nine-span flyover, which was completed within 11 months, was awarded in 2025 to Chinese contractors, Eighteenth Engineering Company.
The government also commissioned school projects, including Larawaram Community Senior Secondary School and Shehu Sanda Kyarimi 1 Primary and Junior Day Secondary School.
Other commissioned projects are the dualised 2.5km road and 5km Drainage in Kasuwan Shanu.
Speaking shortly after the commissioning on Sunday, Zulum said the flyover project is expected to ease traffic congestion, improve road safety, and facilitate the movement of people and goods along one of Maiduguri’s important transportation corridors.
