Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has charged traditional rulers in the state to continue to foster peace and unity within their domains and announced an immediate upward review of their welfare package.
The governor disclosed this on Wednesday when he presented certificates of recognition to newly recognised traditional rulers at the State Supreme Traditional Rulers Council Hall, Uyo.
Eno reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of traditional rulers, announcing that modalities had been put in place to review their monthly remuneration.
He said, “Let me also use this opportunity to urge you, our traditional rulers, and our socio-cultural groups to leverage your various platforms to promote sustainable peace and unity of our people in our state and beyond.
