A total of 188 inmates and personnel at the Koton-Karfe Correctional Centre have benefitted from complimentary medical services funded by the Kogi State Government, part of an initiative to promote the health and welfare of individuals in correctional facilities throughout the state.
This medical outreach, carried out by the Kogi State Ministry of Health, offered essential medical screenings and various health services to the 188 inmates and staff members of the Correctional Service at the center.
The mobile medical team, led by Dr. Komolafe, utilized portable digital X-ray technology equipped with artificial intelligence, specifically for screening tuberculosis and other chest-related illnesses. Additionally, the team gathered multiple body samples from beneficiaries for further laboratory analysis.
This initiative was launched by Governor Ododo to demonstrate his administration’s dedication to ensuring that individuals in correctional facilities have access to vital healthcare services and meet their health requirements.
