Vice Chairman of the Golfers Federation of Nigeria and former Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, has called for increased investment in golf to boost Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality sectors.
Lalong made the call on Tuesday in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, while speaking with journalists at the Lafia Golf Course shortly after a golf kitty organised to mark Nasarawa State’s 30th anniversary.
Nasarawa State, which was created from Plateau State on October 1, 1996, will mark the 30th anniversary of its creation on Thursday, with several events and ceremonies organised to commemorate the milestone.
Speaking on the benefits of golf and its potential to support the hospitality industry, Lalong urged governments at all levels to pay greater attention to the development of the sport and its facilities.
