Kano State Governor Distributes Appointment Letters to 2,367 Health Workers

The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has handed out appointment letters to 2,367 newly hired health personnel in a bid to tackle the manpower shortages present in healthcare facilities throughout the state.

He indicated that the initial recruitment phase comprised 250 medical doctors, 40 pharmacists, 250 nurses, 250 midwives, 150 senior community health extension workers, 50 junior community health extension workers, and 50 epidemiologists.

Yusuf explained that this recruitment was driven by the recognition of manpower deficiencies in health facilities and the imperative to enhance residents’ access to quality healthcare services.

While addressing attendees during the distribution of the appointment letters in Kano, the governor noted that the lack of medical personnel has emerged as a significant issue, especially since many doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals are relocating to different institutions and areas.

He further stated that numerous other healthcare professionals from various categories were also recruited as part of this initiative.
