The Bauchi State Government has emphasized that primary healthcare serves as the backbone of its healthcare framework and represents the most effective route to attaining Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
This assertion was made by the Deputy Governor of Bauchi State and Chairman of the State Taskforce on Primary Healthcare, Rt Hon Muhammad Awwal Jatau, during the 2026 annual recognition and award ceremony held at the Government House’s Banquet Hall on Tuesday.
The Deputy Governor stated, “As a government, we understand that a robust PHC system is essential for lowering maternal and child mortality, managing preventable diseases, and enhancing the overall well-being of the community. This is why our administration is focused on aligning strong structural policies with swift, effective implementation at the grassroots level.”
