The Nigerian Postal Service has reaffirmed its commitment to moving beyond traditional mail delivery into logistics, e-commerce, digital services and financial inclusion across the country.
In a goodwill message delivered to mark World Post Day 2026 on Thursday, under the theme “One Postal Network, Infinite Possibilities”, the Postmaster-General of the Federation, Tola Odeyemi, outlined plans to reposition post offices across the country as comprehensive service hubs.
Addressing members of the NIPOST family, partners and customers, he acknowledged the agency’s history while stressing the need for its modernisation. “For many Nigerians, the post office still means letters and stamps,” he said.
“That history is ours, and we are proud of it. But the NIPOST of today, and certainly of tomorrow, is about logistics, e-commerce, digital services and financial inclusion. Our vision is to reposition as one of the critical infrastructures that serves a modern and increasingly digital Nigeria.”
