The African Action Congress has inaugurated its Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election, with plans to intensify nationwide mobilisation for its presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, and his running mate, Haruna Magashi.

The party announced the inauguration in a statement on Friday, signed by its Acting National Chairman, Samuel Ajeigbe, and National Secretary, Oshiokhue Phillip Ikpeminoghena.

The statement said the inauguration marked “a major step forward” in the party’s preparations to mobilise Nigerians ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

It added that the council would coordinate campaign activities across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, bringing together political strategists, organisers, policy advocates, media professionals, digital campaigners, election specialists, legal practitioners and finance personnel.

The council will be led by Abdullahi Usman as Director-General, supported by deputies responsible for Strategy and Political Affairs, and Diaspora and Resource Mobilisation. Juwon Sanyaolu will serve as the Campaign Council Secretary.
