2027: Makinde unveils manifesto, promises reforms

Ahead of the January 16, 2027 presidential election, the Allied Peoples Movement presidential candidate and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has unveiled his Reset Agenda manifesto, promising reforms in the economy, education, security and the political system.

Speaking on Wednesday in Abuja during the presentation of the manifesto, Makinde said his ambition was driven by the need to address Nigeria’s challenges and restore the vision of its founding fathers.

He said his proposed administration would prioritise policies that improve living conditions, expand opportunities and strengthen public institutions.

“My simple proposition is that government must make life easier for the people. We must develop people’s abilities and expand their access to opportunities. We must also have institutions that work,” he said.

Makinde stressed that government promises must be backed by clear implementation plans, measurable targets and accountable institutions.

He identified the disconnect between macroeconomic reforms and improvements in citizens’ living conditions
