UK-based Nigerian law scholar with PH links wins University of Hull award for publication excellence

Godwin Daramola, a Nigerian legal scholar based in the United Kingdom, with Port Harcourt links, has received the 2026 Postgraduate Research Award for Excellence in Student Publication from the University of Hull. This is said to be in recognition of his outstanding academic contributions to sustainability law, corporate accountability, and energy justice.

The award, announced on May 8 by the University’s Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences and Education, is said to highlight Daramola’s growing reputation as an emerging voice in socio-legal scholarship.

He is a doctoral researcher and teaching fellow in law, with a research profile centred on corporate governance, environmental regulation, and the legal responsibilities of business entities operating in sectors with significant environmental impact.

His published work is said to have drawn attention for its focus on the legal and regulatory dimensions of climate responsibility.
