Simisola Fajemirokun-Ajayi, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, has described the maiden June 12 Democracy Day celebration as “triumph of people’s will after decades of subversion”.
Fajemirokun-Ajayi, disclosed this on Thursday in Ile-Oluji during the commissioning of the 10MVA 33/11KV Ile-Oluji power injection transformer substation to mark the 10th year coronation anniversary of Jegun of Ile-Oluji, Olufaderin Adetimehin, in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of the state.
According to her, the June 12 celebration
symbolises the triumph of the people’s will, the resilience of democratic ideals, and the enduring belief that leadership must be anchored on service, accountability, and the common good.
She said; “the heroes of our democracy
envisioned a nation where governance would bring development closer to the people and where leadership would be measured not by promises made but by lives transformed and or impacted.
