
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday addressed the nation today to mark Democracy Day.
This day marks Nigeria’s 27 years of uninterrupted civilian rule.
In his broadcast, Tinubu outlined his administration’s major security interventions, economic reforms, and infrastructure updates.
During the broadcast. The President also announced national awards for several pro-democracy activists and journalists, alongside the renaming of a federal institution in honour of the late General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua.

Fellow Nigerians
Today, we celebrate democracy and the enduring Nigerian spirit. For 27 unbroken years, since May 29, 1999, Nigerians have chosen their leaders through the ballot, witnessed peaceful transitions of power, and resolved disagreements in courtrooms and legislative chambers—not through violence.
