Democracy Day: Police deploy personnel to ensure peaceful celebrations in Delta

Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, has ordered massive deployment of personnel and operational assets across the state “as part of the Command’s efforts to ensure the protection of lives and property, maintain public order and guarantee a peaceful Democracy Day celebration”.

This was contained in a statement issued by the police public relations officer for Delta state Command, SP Bright Edafe, in Warri on Friday.

Edafe noted that the security arrangement included the deployment of conventional police personnel, tactical teams, intelligence operatives, and undercover officers to strategic locations, critical infrastructure, recreational centres, places of worship, major highways and other public spaces.

Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Tactical Commanders were also directed to intensify visibility policing, intelligence gathering, and confidence-building patrols within their respective areas of responsibility.
