Usman Ahmed, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP governorship candidate in Bauchi State, has predicted that the 2027 Governor will be determined through credible election, rather than the influence of any godfather, or incumbency factor.
Ahmed, fielding questions from Journalists in Abuja, on Thursday, after a successful clinching the party’s flag, dismissed fears that the current political crisis in the party will work against his candidature in the 2027 election.
When reminded that he will be confronting other strong candidates, including the one backed by incumbent, Governor Bala Mohamed, he noted that history did not favour incumbency factor in determining successors.
He described the people of Bauchi as ” always wise, and several times, in fact, from the history of the state, there has never been a governor that was able to install a successor in the state.”
