The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia State, Kelechi Anosike, has said the state is not receiving development that matches its current revenue inflow, insisting that residents “deserve more” than what is presently on the ground.
He made the assertion during an interaction with journalists in Abuja on Friday while outlining his vision for a more people-centred administration focused on welfare, economic growth and holistic development across key sectors.
Alex Otti is the current Governor of Abia State, having assumed office on May 29, 2023, as the fifth democratically elected governor of the state under the Labour Party.
He is expected to seek re-election in 2027, while Anosike is challenging him.
Reacting to questions about Otti’s performance, Anosike said various organisations that visited Abia rated the governor above average only in the area of road infrastructure, adding that he scored below average in other sectors.
