
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Samuel Ogbuku, has ascended the traditional throne of Ayakoro Community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, emerging as the new Paramount Ruler with the revered title of Daufa VI.
This was contained in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Sunday by the NDDC Director of Corporate Affairs, Seledi Thompson-Wakama and sent to newsmen.
Ogbuku’s emergence marks a new chapter in the history of the ancient riverine community, coming six months after the passing of the late monarch.
In accordance with the provisions of the Ayakoro Community Constitution, the former Deputy Paramount Ruler automatically succeeded to the throne, ensuring continuity in the traditional leadership structure.
The transition process, which was supervised by officials of the Bayelsa State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, also saw Chief Micha Itekesi assume the position of Deputy
