
Senator Ishaku Abbo, Labour Party governorship candidate, has unveiled a N150 billion security blueprint for Adamawa state ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Abbo said the proposal, tagged the “SIA Security Plan”, is aimed at strengthening security across the state and creating an environment conducive to economic growth and investment.
In a statement on Sunday, the governorship hopeful said his administration would establish an Adamawa ministry of interior and internal security to coordinate a technology-driven security architecture.
“Security is the foundation upon which every prosperous society is built. Without security, farmers cannot farm, businesses cannot grow, investors cannot invest, and families cannot live in peace,” he said.
Abbo said his administration would create a 20,000-man Civilian JTF-styled Community Watch and Agro Rangers (CWAR) Brigade.
He added that the outfit would be transformed into the Adamawa state police service if constitutional provisions allowing state police are implemented.
