‘You’re Playing With Fire’ – ADC Warns Against Court’s Deregistration Order

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a strong warning to those attempting to use the judiciary to undermine democracy, describing a Federal High Court order to deregister the party and others as “playing with fire.”  

  

In a statement issued on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC condemned the ruling by Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately deregister the ADC, Accord Party, Action Alliance (AA), Action Peoples Party (APP), and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP). 

  

 The party described the judgment as a direct invitation to anarchy, arguing that it contravenes constitutional principles and established judicial processes. 

It further claimed the ruling was a calculated attempt by agents of the ruling party to narrow the democratic space.
