Lawyer and public affairs analyst Kenneth Okonkwo has officially responded to the pre-action demand letter sent by his former ally and presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Obi had on June 9, threatened a ₦5 billion defamation lawsuit following an interview where Okonkwo alleged that fraud and extortion occurred during the party primaries of the Nigerian Democratic Congress.
In a formal reply dated June 16, 2026, issued by his legal team at Supreme God Chambers, Okonkwo firmly rejected the defamation claims, stating that his remarks reflected true information provided directly by an aggrieved aspirant.
The reply letter denies that Okonkwo defamed Obi during his appearance on Channels Television. Instead, the document reveals that Okonkwo was acting on behalf of a client named Obunike Ohaegbu (alias Nwa Miss).
