The remains of the late Nollywood actor, Alexx Ekubo, have arrived in Arochukwu, Abia State, ahead of burial.
His body was received by his close friend and colleague, IK Ogbonna, alongside family members, friends, and other entertainment industry associates ahead of his final burial rites.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Nollywood and fans globally were thrown into mourning when the 40-year-old actor passed away on May 11, 2026, after a prolonged battle with metastatic kidney cancer.
Following his passing, a service of songs was held in his honor on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in Lagos, drawing together friends, clerics, and celebrities.
According to an official statement detailing the funeral arrangements, the final burial rites have been scheduled across two days in his hometown:
Wake-keep: Wednesday, 17th June 2026. Venue: 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State.
Funeral Service: Thursday, 18th June 2026. Venue: Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, Abia
