The management of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, Kogi, has announced new security measures across the campus following an “unfortunate security breach” on June 11.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that on June 11, a 300-level biochemistry student was killed by suspected cultists.
Two suspects were arrested on the same day by the school’s internal security in connection with the incident, according to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Salisu Usman.
In a notice on Sunday signed by the Registrar, Siyaka Audu, after the University Management Committee’s 401st Regular Meeting, the management directed immediate enforcement of restrictions to protect staff, students, and stakeholders.
Under the directives, the management said no student would be allowed on campus with personal cars and motorcycles, including Haojue, TVS, and other “rubber-rubber” bikes, until further notice.
It explained that tinted vehicles and vehicles with concealed number plates were also barred.
