Obi, Kwankwaso exempted from NDC’s anti-defection oath

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially exempted its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, from signing the party’s newly introduced anti-defection oath.

The decision was confirmed by the NDC National Secretary, Ikenna Enekweizu, during a live media appearance on Channels Television.

Similarly, in an exclusive chat with BusinessDay political correspondent, Osa Director, the National Publicity Secretary of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) also confirmed the party position.

The leadership of the NDC clarified that the core focus of the policy is to safe-keep the party structure rather than trap its top executive candidates.
