The Kano State Government has rehabilitated no fewer than 320 Primary Healthcare Centres as part measures to improve healthcare delivery across the 44 local government areas of the state.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, disclosed this on Thursday at a press conference as part of activities marking the Democracy Day and third anniversary of the administration of Governor Abba Yusuf.

“When we came in 2023, we met 1, 236 health centres in dilapidated condition. I’m happy to inform you that government has within the last three years renovated and equipped 320 PHCs, “ he said.

Labaran Yusuf noted that additional healthcare personnel had been recruited through collaboration between the state and federal government and deployed to health facilities to improve service delivery.

According to him, the state government plans to recruit about 7,000 additional health workers including midwives and nurses to equip the state health facilities
