A former chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, Barrister Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado, has accused former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of diverting large sums of state funds into a personal account.
In a widely circulated video on social media, Muhyi detailed several alleged payments made to Kwankwaso from the Kano State treasury, primarily in late 2023 and 2024. He claimed these funds were used for personal projects and expenses.
According to the allegations:In December 2023, Kwankwaso reportedly received ₦1.05 billion for the construction of a personal house.
The same month, he allegedly collected ₦525 million for the construction of an office.
He also reportedly received ₦1.2404 billion in December 2023 for the purchase of two vehicles.
Additional payments allegedly included ₦100.08 million in June 2024 for medical expenses and ₦510.213 million for a vacation.
Muhyi challenged Kwankwaso to sue him if the claims were false, asserting that the funds were diverted directly
