Former Ondo State First Lady, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has officially clinched the Labour Party (LP) ticket to contest for the Owerri Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking after receiving her Certificate of Return, Anyanwu-Akeredolu expressed gratitude to the party leadership, describing her emergence as both a milestone and a renewed call to service.
She emphasized that her candidacy is focused on grassroots development, pledging to listen closely to constituents and translate their concerns into legislative action.
She explained that her earlier withdrawal from the Imo East senatorial race was a strategic decision taken after consultations with stakeholders, aimed at strengthening party unity and improving LP’s chances in the upcoming elections.
