A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has said the victory recorded by Governor Biodun Oyebanji in Saturday’s Ekiti State governorship election would be replicated in Osun during the August 15, 2026 governorship poll.
Oyintiloye, who spoke with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, described Oyebanji’s re-election as well deserved and attributed the outcome to the governor’s performance in office and the support of the people of Ekiti State.
He said the election result represented a strong endorsement of the governor’s administration, adding that the margin of victory reflected the electorate’s confidence in progressive governance and policies centred on development and inclusiveness.
According to him, “The success of the APC in Ekiti has reinforced the party’s popularity and provides momentum ahead of the Osun governorship election.
“The Ekiti result has shown that when a party is united, focused and committed to grassroots engagement, victory becomes very easy.
“It is a clear lesson for us in Osun that teamwork, dedication and collective responsibility are indispensable for electoral success.”
The APC stalwart commended the party’s National Working Committee, led by National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda and National Secretary Sen. Ajibola Basiru, for what he described as strategic leadership that has strengthened the party across the country.
He also acknowledged the role of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former Osun governor, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, saying his continued engagement with party members and stakeholders since the 2022 governorship election had helped to sustain and strengthen the party in the state.
