
The Presidency has hit back at 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Peter Obi, describing his call for President Bola Tinubu’s resignation as childish, simplistic, and an unwarranted distraction.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Obi had earlier in the day urged President Tinubu to step down from office over what he termed a monumental failure in governance, citing deepening economic hardship, rising living costs, and worsening national security breaches, including persistent kidnappings and violent attacks across the country.
Obi noted that his demand was directly influenced by recent global political developments in the United Kingdom, specifically referencing the resignation announcement made by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer outside 10 Downing Street following public frustration over unfulfilled promises.
