Nigeria’s Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has signed a new contract that keeps him in charge of the senior national team while also handing him responsibility for the U-23 Olympic Eagles.
Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko, confirmed the development on Tuesday after a meeting with Nigeria Football Federation officials in Abuja.
The talks focused on long-term plans for the national teams.Chelle’s initial two-year deal was set to expire at the end of 2026. Following months of negotiations, both sides agreed on improved remuneration and expanded support for his backroom staff.
“We have reached new terms with the coach about his new remuneration. We are also going to take care of his assistants, and there are other benchmarks we have put on the table,” Dikko said.
