Sowore Arrives at Federal High Court from Kuje Prison for Continued Trial

Omoyele Sowore, the 2027 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) and publisher of Sahara Reporters, has been brought to the Federal High Court in Abuja from the Kuje Correctional Centre, where he is currently remanded.  

  

Sowore appeared in court on Wednesday amid his ongoing trial. He was seen smiling and interacting with his lawyers upon arrival, while supporters and activists gathered at the court premises in anticipation of proceedings. 

  

The development follows Monday’s ruling by Justice Mohammed Garba Umar, who ordered Sowore’s remand in prison pending the hearing and determination of his motion for a stay of the order revoking his bail and issuing a bench warrant. 

He was immediately taken into custody by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and transferred to Kuje prison.  

  

The DSS is prosecuting Sowore over allegations that he made false claims against President Bola Tinubu by referring to him as “a criminal” in posts
