Police parade five suspects over arms stockpiling in Oyo

Oyo State Police command, on Wednesday, arrested five suspects in connection with the discovery of firearms and other incriminating items in a building which was said to belong to the former member of the Park Management System, Surajudeen Adio, popularly called Suri Ilupeju

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, paraded the suspects on behalf of the state Police Commissioner, Olugbenga Abimbola, at the command headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan.

One of the suspects, Muideen Adio, who just returned from Poland, is said to be the son of the principal suspect, Suri Ilupeju, who is currently at large.

The PUNCH reports that, on June 16, 2026, the state government demolished a building allegedly used for the storage of arms and ammunition as part of its efforts to destroy property linked to criminal activities in the state.
