The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested two suspects and rescued a teenage girl who was allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted in Ewohimi, Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State.
The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Monday Okpebholo, Patrick Ebojele, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, noting that the incident occurred amid renewed efforts by security agencies and the Edo State Government to strengthen the fight against violent crimes, particularly offences involving women and children.
According to the statement, the incident was reported on June 19, 2026, after one Odion Enokhimion lodged a complaint at the NSCDC Ewohimi Division over the disappearance of his sister, who was allegedly taken away by unknown persons a day earlier.
Following the complaint, operatives launched an investigation, which led to the arrest of two suspects identified as Orhiabor ThankGod, 20, and Saturday Freedom, 16, both residents of Ewohimi. The
